Does the title chosen for this blog almost sound synonymous with a pregnant virgin. Somewhere something is missing amonsgt what is clearly a treasure trove in so many ways. Is it now less shameful to be an Oriya anywhere in the world? Kalahandi to Kalinganagar - we have been in the news for the wrong reasons.

Are things really that bad, or are we just a whining race. Or, perhaps we are just a shy community that feels talking about our achievements is pompous. The daridra narayan mentatlity which legitmises our impoverishment could be one major factor.

Lets not carry a remitt for anyone. Call a spade a spade. And if we have a spade, lets not brood that we have no garden to use the spade.

At regular intervals, I will seek to post a resaon to smile for every Oriya. I am confident that the wailing for each one of them will far out number the silent smiles. Happy and eager to be proven wrong, with others who feel that an Oriya's biggest (and perhaps) only handicap is his mind!!
